Barley's Backyard Lacrosse Club is the reincarnation of the Greene Turtle Towson Lacrosse Club. Our sponsor, Barley's Backyard Uptown, the former owners of The Greene Turtle Towson,
have had a long tradition of sponsoring lacrosse teams and they want that to continue. We are looking forward to continuing our lacrosse work with the same owners and the new name. Here is their facebook link:
Our home practice field is the Loyola Univesity of MD Stadium Complex. Located on Coldspring Lane.
This year we will have a Fall Season with 5 one day Tournaments. Players will play for their Respective HS teams in the Spring. We will have a Summer season that starts soon after the HS season ends. We will be playing in 4 Summer Tournaments:

-6/19 - 6/20 Aloha Summer Getaway
-6/28 - 6/30 Naptown Challenge
-7/8 - 7/9 Trilogy 24
We do not have open tryouts this year. Tryouts will be conducted as needed on a case by case basis. If you are interested in trying out for us please contact Coach Alex Frisch via the contact information listed below.
Coach Frisch was a member of the 1990 Loyola University NCAA Tournament Finalist Team. #23 Defense. Played for Loyola 1988-1991. Played for St. Mary's HS in Annapolis MD 1984-1987. Assistant Coached Calvert Hall JV - 1992. Has coached Rec and Club teams since 1998.
Coach Ben has been invaluable in growing our program. Responsible for attracting and recruiting some our best players. Coach Ben played Goalie and Defense in High School on the Eastern Shore and has been coaching Rec and Club teams since 2008.
Current Junior on Loyola University Men's Lacrosse. #34 SSDM. 2020 (Sophmore) One of the Greyhounds' top short-stick defensive midfielders who began to garner national attention for his play during the shortened season... In six games, had seven caused turnovers, good for second on the team... Had an assist on a Ryan McNulty transition goal against Johns Hopkins... Caused three turnovers versus Rutgers... Had single caused turnovers versus the Blue Jays, Towson, at Lafayette and versus Duke.
Current Junior on Loyola University Men's Lacrosse. #42 Midfield. 2020 (Sophomore): Played in all six games on the Greyhounds' second midfield... Made his Loyola debut at Virginia... Had an assist in the win over Johns Hopkins... Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. 2019 (Freshman at Bellarmine): Named the Southern Conference’s Freshman of the Year and was selected to the All-SoCon Second Team and All-Freshman Team… Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll member… Led the Knights in points (39) and goals (30)… Fourth on the squad in assists (9)… Finished sixth in the Southern Conference in goals per game (2.31) and 10th in points per game (3.0)… Started all 13 games.
Current Junior on Loyola University Men's Lacrosse. #5 Close Defense. 2020 (Sophomore): Continued to be one of the top one-on-one cover defenders in the nation... Started all five games in which he played... Had five caused turnovers, five ground balls and an assist... Posted an assist, the first of his career, on the game-winning goal by Joey Kamish, picking up a key ground ball at midfield... Held Towson's leading scorer, Jon Mazza, scoreless with only one shot... Preseason Patriot League Team.
2019 (Freshman): Started all 17 games on close defense as a freshman, earning All-Patriot League Second Team honors in the process… Was a three-time Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week (after games against Virginia, Colgate and Lehigh)… Led the close defense in both ground balls (34) and caused turnovers (17) while defending the No. 1 matchup… Had six ground balls and a caused turnover in the season-opening win against Virginia… Caused two turnovers and picked up two ground balls against Rutgers… Had three ground balls versus Towson… Posted a career-best three caused turnovers against Navy… Caused two turnovers against Lehigh, Boston University and Army West Point in the regular-season… Named to the Patriot League All-Tournament Team after his defense against the Black Knight’s leading point-scorer, Brenden Nichtern… Had three ground balls and two caused turnovers against Syracuse in the NCAA First Round win.
Current Junior on Loyola University Men's Lacrosse. #10 Goalie. Made his collegiate debut in goal against Navy. Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Before Loyola: Earned six letters – three each in lacrosse and football – at Oakwood (Ohio) High School… Made 603 saves and had a .645 saves percentage during his three seasons as a starter… Made an average of 12.8 saves per game… As a senior in 2018, made 220 saves on 346 shots in 14 games… Tallied 215 saves on 333 shots in 16 games as a junior… Earned All-Ohio honors in 2017 and 2018 and was the Ohio Division 2 Goalie of the Year as a senior in 2018… Named the Regional Goalie of the Year in 2018 and was a three-time All-Region honoree from 2016-18… Finished his career ranked fourth in state history in career saves… Set school records for saves in a game (26) and a season (220) in 2018… Three-time team captain… 2017 Under Armour Midwest All-American.
Current Junior on Loyola University Men's Lacrosse. #23 Midfield. 2020 (Sophomore): Saw action against Towson and at Lafayette... Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. 2019 (Freshman): Made his collegiate debut against Navy… Played in four games during his freshman year, also seeing action versus Colgate, Lehigh and Lafayette.
Before Loyola: Graduated from Victor (N.Y.) Senior High School where he earned four letters in football and three in lacrosse… Scored 60 goals and had 34 assists over his three varsity seasons… Also had 66 ground balls and nine caused turnovers… scored 24 goals and had 11 assists as a senior in 2018 after posting 35 and 15 in 2017… Named a US Lacrosse Academic All-American in 2018, earned All-League honors in 2017 and 2018 and was a Herb Fitch Senior All-Star in 2018… Named All-State as a midfielder in 2017… Earned Scholar-Athlete lacrosse recognition from 2016-18… Helped Victor win the 2016 New York State Class A title and the 2017 Class B crown… Helped Victor finish as runners-up in Class B in 2018… As a football player, earned All-Greater Rochester Second Team honors as a senior in 2017 and was an Eddie Meath Football All-Star… Helped Victor finish as New York State Class AA runners-up in 2016… Played club lacrosse for Sweetlax.
